Open-Air Museum

The area of the premises of the Historical and Architectural Open-Air Museum of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences is 46.5 ha. There are several recreational zones, archaeological, ethnographic and architectural monuments, an experimental site and the main building which houses the ethnographic exhibition. Church of Not-Made-by-Hand Icon of Our Saviour from the Zashiver Ostrog is the central architectural monument and a masterpiece of wooden architecture of the 18th century. It is a monument of history and culture of federal significance. In summer, you can sign up for a guided tour of the museum premises. The museum is also open on the days of public events and holidays.
