Novosibirsk-Glavny Railway Station

The station holds a key position on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and marks the beginning of the Turksib (Turkestan-Siberian Railway). It functions as a transit point between the countries of Central Asia and the western and eastern regions of Russia. The Novosibirsk-Glavny Railway Station sends out commuter electric trains in five directions: west, east, south, Kuzbass, and Sokur. Novosibirsk runs long-distance branded trains to Omsk (“Irtysh”), Krasnoyarsk (“Krasny Yar”), Novy Urengoy (“Ob”), and Moscow (“Sibiryak”). The annual passenger traffic is more than 16 million passengers. The halls and passages (covering 29 thousand sq. m.) can accommodate about 4,000 people.
You can have a meal in the station restaurant, use the shower complex, or buy any travel essentials you may need. Passengers with small children can use playrooms and a baby care room. If you are in transit, there is a hotel. Wi-Fi is available. The station has a replica of the Provorny steam locomotive, which hauled the first trains in Russia on the Tsarskoselskaya railroad in the middle of the 19th century.
