Novosibirsk-Glavny Railway Station

The station’s building is the largest in Siberia. Initially the station was designed by the architect Nikolay Voloshinov in the Constructivism style. The project motto said “A locomotive dashing to communism,” that’s why the building’s outline looks like a locomotive going East. Redesigned in the Stalinist Empire, it was commissioned in 1939. The station has a replica of the Provorny steam locomotive, which hauled the first trains in Russia on the Tsarskoselskaya railroad in the middle of the 19th century.
