Suzun Factory. Mint

Suzun Factory. Mint Museum and Tourist Complex is located in the old village of Suzun, where the Nizhny Suzun Copper-Smelting Plant and Mint was built in 1764, and a “particular” Siberian coin was minted from 1766 to 1781.
The complex includes:
• Manager’s House and Office Museum that features reconstructed interiors of the 1870s — the time when Alexander Cherkasov, a famous engineer and one of the factory’s last managers, lived and worked there,
• Copper-Smelting Plant exposition located in the building of the only remaining factory workshop,
• Mint Museum with a collection of functioning machines for the production of 18th and 19th century coins,
• Museum of Siberian Folk Icons, the only museum in Russia today featuring icons made by folk craftsmen.
