Old mine gallery

In 1831, Georgy (Yegor) Kankrin, the Russian Finance Minister, offered his Easter greetings to the tsar and gave him a bar of Salair gold as a present. The grateful tsar ordered that the mine should be called Georgiyevsky. Hence the name of Yegoryevskoye village. The total amount of gold mined from the District is 11–14 tons. Maslyaninskoye gold is one of the highest grade in Russia. During a tour of the mine gallery you can feel like a real gold prospector of the past.
