Lozhok. Holy Spring

From 1929 to 1956, this was the location of one of the special totalitarian camps — Iskitimskiy Penal Camp of SibLAG. It was a cruel back breaking camp, which contained political prisoners and clergymen along with criminals and repeat criminal offenders. Thousands of people died here. At the place of yet another terrible massacre, a spring of crystal clear water sprang up, which people believe to be holy. There is also a church and a museum of the political repressions of the 20th century. For several decades, Orthodox Christians from all over the country have been coming to the Holy Spring to pray for healing of body and soul.
