The main campus of the Siberian State Transport University (SGUPS) is one of the most monumental and interesting historical buildings in Novosibirsk.
A well-tended square with paved paths, a children’s playground, well-groomed lawns, evergreen pines, and street art based on creation stories from the Bible.
The yard is home to a unique fantasy exhibit, where you could imagine Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver appearing at any time.
The building is the center of a completed architectural complex. The largest House of Culture of its day in Novosibirsk. It was built in 1957.
The square is dedicated to nuclear industry workers and members of radiation disaster response teams. You can see the 80-meter-high monument to the Conquerors of the Atom here.
In the 1930s, the first residential buildings for the employees of the Chkalov aircraft factory were built on Aviastroiteley Street; many of these buildings are in the Stalinist architecture style.
